Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This policy explains exactly what happens to a file when you upload it, what we do and do not collect, and the choices you have. It is written to be read, not to be impenetrable.

The short version

  • Your uploaded file is deleted from our server immediately after it is converted.
  • The generated spreadsheet is available to you for a short window, then automatically removed.
  • We do not require an account, so we hold no name, email, or password for you.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your documents or their contents with anyone.
  • We do not use your documents to train any machine learning model.

What happens to a file you upload

When you submit a document, it is written to a temporary working directory on our server so the conversion process can read it. The conversion runs, and the uploaded original is deleted as soon as that finishes - whether it succeeded or failed.

The resulting spreadsheet is held briefly so your browser can download it, and is then removed automatically. Files older than 30 minutes are swept away. Download links use a long random identifier and are not listed, indexed, or guessable.

We do not keep a copy of your document, its text, or the data extracted from it once this process completes.

Information we collect

We do not operate user accounts, so we do not collect names, email addresses, passwords, or payment details.

Like almost any web server, our infrastructure may record standard technical request logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL, browser user-agent). These exist to keep the service running and to investigate abuse or errors. They are not used to build a profile of you and are not combined with the contents of your documents.

Cookies and analytics

This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies, and does not run third-party analytics or advertising scripts.

See our Cookie Policy for the full detail, including the one third-party request the site does make.

Sensitive documents

This tool is commonly used on bank statements and invoices, which contain sensitive financial information. We have designed the service to hold those files for as short a time as technically possible, and to require no account that could later be breached.

That said, no transmission over the internet is completely risk-free. If a document is extremely sensitive, consider whether an offline tool is more appropriate for your situation. You are always welcome to redact information you do not need converted before uploading.

Security measures

When served over HTTPS, traffic between your browser and our server is encrypted in transit using standard TLS. Uploads are size-limited to reduce abuse. Processing happens in an isolated environment, and files are removed promptly rather than retained.

Your rights

Because we do not retain your documents or hold an account for you, there is normally nothing for us to export or erase on request - the deletion has already happened automatically.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA regarding any technical logs that reference you. Contact us and we will act on legitimate requests.

Children

This service is intended for adults handling their own or their organisation's documents. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
